With concern to the Coronavirus, The League will like to update everyone as it stands currently and moving forward.
These are trying times for everyone. The domino effect from the Coronavirus is far reaching and causing everyone to change the way they live. Major league sports are either cancelled or suspended, schools are closing, businesses shut down, and people are being forced to search far and wide for simple products like toilet paper. Without a shadow of a doubt, we are all being effected and these are moments we will never forget.
The League for Fastpitch Softball believes first and foremost in the safety of our players, coaches, and staff. We encourage everyone to take the necessary precautions so that you and your love ones may be safe. Please follow the guidelines provided by our Mayor, Governor, President and health organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Life is precious and not a game. While many of us may live with the mantra, “Softball is Life,” nothing sounds as silly as that right now. Softball is a game we love.
While softball is a game, we hope it’s a game we get to play this season. As it stands, we at The League for Fastpitch Softball feel it’s too early to postpone or cancel the season. Since the season starts at the end of May, we will update everyone on May 1st to determine what the next appropriate steps will be. Thus at this current moment, the season will continue as planned until further notice.
